Firstly, I'm a dad to two amazing teenager boys and husband to a wonderful wife.

 

I've worked in various commercial roles for over 20 years. It's a tough area of business and during my first 10 career years or so I just assumed I had to be the "banging fists on the table"  kind of guy to "get on". I then inherited a brilliant new boss, an influential leader who taught me otherwise.

​

He taught me - for example - that there are leaders with high emotional intelligence, who are as equally as influential, but may give themselves more time for reflection and consideration. He showed me that different leadership styles may work in different situations, but it was about knowing your default style and then dialling up different styles as needed.

 

I soon learnt that a robust knowledge of YOU is crucial to your ability to KNOW which lever to pull on and when.

The key to success is to "KNOW yourself inside and out, act on those unique strengths, be authentic to who you are and be proud to talk about YOU" ! 

​

These experiences are why I  wanted to start Know : Let's Go ..... I want young people to KNOW these skills  a lot earlier than I did.

​​

Whether you are an aspiring leader, a brilliant team player or a go it alone individual- we all come in different shapes and sizes, with different behaviours, values,  personalities and styles.

 

The key take out that I  would  like to pass on - is that each and every one of these different styles is absolutely fine and briliant in its own right.
